Welcome! My name is Nitin Deckha.
I’m trained as a cultural anthropologist (PhD, Rice University) and did fieldwork exploring inner-city revitalization, community development and creative industries in London, UK. I wrote a few publications about it; however, fieldwork – plus a detour working in marketing in NYC and Toronto, inspired a dozen short stories about identity and ambition, Shopping for Sabzi (2008). Recently, I published an ebook version of my novel, The Real Estate of Things, a comedy about real estate, politics and spirituality!
Over the last ten years, I’ve been teaching social sciences at Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber. As such, I am became more interested in how adults learn, experience education and perceive success; so, I undertook a research project to explore.
I’ve recently completed a Master’s Certificate in Adult Training and Development and am now a Certified Training and Development Professional.
In addition to being an educator, I launched Enliven Learning. My mission is to craft and facilitate learning and leadership development for clients that is experiential, personalized and applicable to the workplace, learning that enlivens and inspires, and creates success for individuals and organizations.
